Upon confirmation of the desired Globalcitizen Service, the lesson schedule (time and date) as well as the price by the Student, the Teacher (Globalcitizen Specialist®) and the Globalcitizen Retail Associate/Partner, such Student, Teacher and Associate/Partner shall be entering into a contract, pursuant to which the Student agrees to purchase, and the Teacher agrees to deliver through the Globalcitizen Digital Platform, the Globalcitizen Services (the “Lesson Contract“) be it part of a private or group lesson. You agree not to enter into any contractual provisions that conflict with the Globalcitizen Terms or other Globalcitizen Policies. The Student and Teacher each covenant and agree to act with good faith and fair dealing in performance of the Lesson Contract. Furthermore, the Student and Teacher each acknowledge and agree that the value, reputation, and goodwill of the Globalcitizen Educational Organization depends on their performance of the foregoing covenants and agreements. The Student and the Teacher therefore agree that Globalcitizen has the right to take such actions with respect to the Lesson Contract, including without limitation suspension, termination, or legal actions, as Globalcitizen in its sole discretion deems necessary to protect the value, reputation, and goodwill of the Globalcitizen Educational Organization Worldwide.

NOTE: Once Lessons start, it is taken for granted that Students and Teachers have read and agreed upon both their Globalcitizen Lesson Package Offer (Lesson Contract) as well as the Terms and Conditions of the Oraganization as a whole. If Students and Teachers do not fully agree they should not start their Globalcitizen Service – Learning Package at all.

    3. Financial Terms for Students

3.1 Purchasing Globalcitizen Services and Making Payments

Payments for purchasing Globalcitizen Services are made through the Organizations Associates/Partners retail network worldwide. Payments can be made either at local Associate/Partner branches, through bank transfers or through online payment gateways.

Depending on the Globalcitizen Service / Lesson package, payments can be made upfront or split into installments as agreed upon with the Globalcitizen Associate/Partner accordingly.
In either case the Student is obliged to pay the whole sum of the Educational Package as agreed.

Following a successful transaction, your Student Account will have the corresponding amount of Globalcitizen Credits.

You acknowledge and agree that the Globalcitizen Credit you purchased will be used to pay the Lesson fees, Student Service Fees, Teacher Fees plus Other Fees, provided through the Globalcitizen Platform.
If you are a Company, Globalcitizen Credit acquired by you may be allocated between the Company Employees’ Student Account.

3.2 No Refunds on Purchased Services

Authorized payments are final. No refunds will be given for Globalcitizen Credits purchased.

If Students pause or stop their lessons for any reason, they retain the right to use up their remaining Globalcitizen Credits with similar or other available Globalcitizen Services of their liking withing 6 months from original credit purchase.

3.3 Third Party Payment Method Fees

When purchasing Globalcitizen Credits, you may be charged additional fees by the third party that provides the applicable Payment Method. These fees are not under Globalcitizens control, and Globalcitizen disclaims all liability in this regard. Whatever Payment Method you use may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which we recommend that you review before using such Payment Method.

    3.4 Cancelled Lesson Requests

    Group lessons

In groups, lessons can’t be canceled by individual students and will be conducted as normal.
Students who have missed lessons for any reason will be able to watch the lesson recordings in their Digital Learning Space on the Globalcitizen Digital Platform and can contact their Teachers through the Official Globalcitizen communication channels for further details or questions.

    Private Lessons

If a Lesson is cancelled by the Student or by the Teacher, Students will receive a 100% refund in the form of Globalcitizen credits in their Student Account for future use.

However if Students keep cancelling lessons and especially lessons in a row (2 plus continuous cancellations), teachers will have the right to fully charge the following cancelled lessons if they wish.

ΝΟΤΕ: If students face a problem during a specific time period and would like to freeze lessons, they will have to contact the Globalcitizen Support Team and make an official request (Create a Ticket).
Keep in mind that this “lesson freeze” is usually just for a few weeks and can be up to a maximum of 6 months in extraordinary cases, otherwise Students risk losing their remaining Globalcitizen Credits.
Depending on the case brought forward by the Student, the Teacher and/or the Organization, retain the right to fully or partially accept the students request without any charge or not.
Keep in mind that as Students buy specific Lesson Packages and reserve specific lesson time slots, Teachers are not allowed to arrange alternative lessons and therefore have to be paid for time lost.
Also in case of long term “Freeze Lessons Requests” the availability of Teachers in the future at specific desired days and time cannot be guaranteed. Students might have to continue lessons at other days and/or time or even with other Teachers (and if such an option is available).
In such cases Students agree that this is a risk that they are prepared to take and if no alternate solution is found they also risk losing their remaining Globalcitizen Credits.

    3.5 Confirmation of Lessons

As a Student, when a lesson finishes, you automatically confirm that the Teacher has completed the applicable Lesson Services fully and satisfactorily, and you are instructing Globalcitizen to transfer the applicable Globalcitizen Credits from your Student Account to the Teacher’s Account.

If however there was a problem and you don’t want to be partially or fully charged for a specific lesson, then you’ll have to post an official Complaint/Problem Ticket. You can also try to contact a Globalcitizen Support Staff member and put forward your case for review but keep in mind that posting a ticket is always the most official way.

Note: In case of Group lessons, lessons take place no matter if you as an individual Student attend a single lesson under general Globalcitizen Policy, and Globalcitizen will transfer the applicable Globalcitizen Credits from your Student Account to the Teacher’s Account without your confirmation.

3.6 Feedback and Ratings on Lessons

As a Student, when you confirm a Lesson was successful, you may be asked to leave feedback and a rating for the Teacher. Leaving feedback or a rating is optional. However, if you do so, you agree that your feedback must be genuine and honest, and will not commit fraud, spam, insult, harass, threaten, or otherwise misuse the feedback system.

You agree to report violations or abuses of our rating and feedback system by contacting Customer Service, and agree not to take any actions that undermine the integrity of the feedback system.

    4. Financial Terms for Teachers

Globalcitizen provides each Teacher with a “Teacher Account” to hold the Globalcitizen Credits for Teacher Services provided until withdrawal.

    4.1 Accepting Lesson Requests

Teachers will receive requests for Lessons/Packages from Students through the Globalcitizen Retail Associates/Partners worldwide (“Lesson/Package Requests“). By accepting a Lesson/Package Request, you agree to provide the Lesson to the Student/s at the date and time as described in the applicable Lesson/Package Request be it private or group lesson. You can choose to decline any Lesson/Package Request. If you do not respond within the predefined request limit, the Lesson/Package Request will automatically expire.

    4.2 Teacher Fees

For every Lesson/Package Request, Teachers in combination with the Globalcitizen Retail Associate/Partner come to an agreement upon a specific “Teacher Lesson/Package Fee”. This fee can vary depending on a number of factors such as type of Service provided each time by the Teacher and/or number of students attending a Lesson/Package.

Once a Lesson Request has been agreed upon between Teacher and the Globalcitizen Retail Associate/Partner, a Teacher cannot change his/her “Teacher Lesson Fee” at his/her free own will and is bound by this agreement for the rest of the Lesson/Package Request duration.

    4.3 Cancellations of Lesson Requests

As a Teacher, you acknowledge and agree that Students and/or Globalcitizen may in its sole discretion cancel a Lesson pursuant to Globalcitizen Terms and other Globalcitizen Policies. You further acknowledge and agree that Globalcitizen and the relevant Student will not have any liability for such cancellations or refunds.

NOTE: Cancelations will have to take place 24hrs before scheduled lesson time. If the 24hr rule is violated then you as a Teacher have the right to request for payment to be made in full.

    4.4 Globalcitizen Commission Fees

Globalcitizen collects commission fees when successful completion of a Lesson is confirmed by an individual Student and or Group. For each successfully completed Lesson, a “Commission Fee” is charged by Globalcitizen. The Commission Fee will be deducted upon the transfer of Globalcitizen Credits from the Student’s Account to the Teacher’s Account.

To the extent any refunds are issued to a Student, no Commission Fees will be charged to the Teacher with respect to Globalcitizen Credits that are refunded back to the Student.

4.5 No Circumvention of Commission Fees

Teachers shall not to engage in any action or activity meant to circumvent the Commission Fees, with such actions or activities including, but not limited to, the following:

    (i) suggesting, soliciting, or accepting payment outside of the Globalcitizen Platform and the Globalcitizen Retail Associates/Partners Network Worldwide, or by other means other than through the Payment Services; or

(ii) reporting or listing an inaccurate price for a Lesson on the Globalcitizen Platform, or

(iii) charging a fee for a Lesson that is different from the amount agreed between the Globalcitizen Retail Associates/Partners and the Teacher for a specific Lesson/Package Request.

    4.6 Withdrawal of Funds

When withdrawing Globalcitizen Credits, you may be charged additional fees by the third party that provides the applicable Withdrawal Method. These fees are not under Globalcitizen’s control, and Globalcitizen disclaims all liability in this regard. Whatever Withdrawal Method you use may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which we recommend that you review before using such Withdrawal Method.

Withdrawals from the Teachers Account are typically made at the beginning of each following month and are made by Globalcitizen through the Teachers designated Withdrawal Method.

4.7 Withholding or Delaying Disbursement of Funds

If Globalcitizen determines that a Teacher’s actions may have resulted or will result in a significant number of disputes, refunds or other claims from Students who purchased such Teacher’s Lessons, Globalcitizen reserves the right to delay or stop the disbursement of all funds accrued in such Teacher’s Teacher Account. If Globalcitizen reasonably concludes that a Teacher has violated the Globalcitizen Terms or other Globalcitizen Policies, Globalcitizen may refuse to disburse the funds accrued in such Teacher’s Teacher Account and debit such funds from the Teacher Account.

    4.8 Rounding Off

Globalcitizen may, in its sole discretion, round up or round down amounts that are payable from or to Teachers or Students to the nearest whole functional base unit in which the currency is denominated (e.g. to the nearest Euro); for example Globalcitizen may round up an amount of €101.50 to €102.00, and may round down an amount of €101.49 to €101.00.

    5. Lesson Packages

A Teacher may accept Lesson Requests that include more than one Lesson in a single package (each such lesson package, a “Lesson Package”). Students are expected to complete all Lessons in the Lesson Packages within six (6) months of the purchase date (the “Package Expiration Date”). If there are any remaining Lessons that have not been completed on or before the Package Expiration Date, the Student may extend the Lesson Package on the Student’s Globalcitizen Account before the applicable Package Expiration Date, but if the Student fails to do so, then all remaining Globalcitizen Credits in the package will be sent to the Teacher, minus Globalcitizen’s Commission Fees.

    6. Taxes

Teachers shall be solely responsible for determining their applicable tax related duties in connection with the income obtained from their Teacher Services, and shall also be solely responsible for remitting to the relevant authority any applicable taxes that need to be paid.

Globalcitizen cannot and does not offer tax-related advice to any Members.

    7. Globalcitizen Credits Policies

7.1 Globalcitizen Credits are not Bank Deposits

You acknowledge that: (1) Globalcitizen is not a bank, and Student and Teacher Accounts are a payment service rather than a banking service; and (2) Globalcitizen is not acting as a trustee or fiduciary with respect to your funds, but is acting only as an agent and custodian. (3) GLOBALCITIZEN IS NOT A BANK, AND AMOUNTS TRANSFERRED THROUGH OR STORED IN STUDENT ACCOUNTS OR TEACHER ACCOUNTS ARE NOT INSURED DEPOSITS.

    7.2 Globalcitizen Credits Expiration Policy

Globalcitizen Credits in a Globalcitizen Account will be valid for so long as the Member remains active on Globalcitizen. If any Member’s Globalcitizen Account has been inactive for more than six (6) months, the Globalcitizen Credits will expire. Credits can be reactivated by contacting Globalcitizen customer support with a reactivation request, with the condition that the credits have been expired for less than 6 months. Credits can be reactivated only one time, and will be valid for 6 months after the reactivation. Any activity in the credits will extend the expiration date of the credits an additional 6 months.

    7.3 Foreign Exchange Risk

Globalcitizen Credits are tied to Euros. Globalcitizen is not responsible for currency fluctuations that occur when billing or crediting a credit or debit card denominated in a currency other than Euros, nor is Globalcitizen responsible for currency fluctuations that occur when receiving or sending payment via third party payment services when purchasing Globalcitizen Credits or withdrawing an Globalcitizen Credit balance.

    7.4 Globalcitizen Credits Limitations

Globalcitizen Credits are valid only when purchased on the Globalcitizen Platform or through authorized Globalcitizen Retail Associates/Partners. Globalcitizen Credits in the form of Globalcitizen gift cards or vouchers cannot be resold or redeemed for cash. Globalcitizen Credits redeemed from gift cards or vouchers purchased through unofficial sources or channels are subject to cancellation without notice.

    8. Globalcitizen’s Rights Regarding Globalcitizen Accounts and Funds

    8.1 Security and Financial Fraud

As a security measure, Globalcitizen may impose transaction limits on some or all Students and Teachers relating to the value of any transaction or disbursement, the cumulative value of all transactions or disbursements during a period of time, or the number of transactions per day or other period of time. We will impose these limits before any services are rendered if we determine it is necessary for security reasons or the prevention of fraud.

Globalcitizen reserves the right to void Globalcitizen Credit purchases if purchases are found to be fraudulent. This includes Globalcitizen Credits that have been redeemed from fraudulent Globalcitizen gift card purchases.

8.2 Reservation of Rights for Erroneous Transactions

Globalcitizen reserves the right to seek reimbursement from any Teacher or Student, if Globalcitizen, in its sole discretion, determines that erroneous or duplicate transactions have occurred. Globalcitizen may obtain such reimbursement by deducting from future payments owed to such Teacher, by reversing any Globalcitizen Credits to such Teacher’s Teacher Wallet, or by seeking reimbursement from such Teacher by any other lawful means.

    8.3 Prohibition on Friendly Fraud

Friendly Fraud” is when a person initiates a fraud dispute with a payment provider, claiming that their credit card (or other payment method) was not intended to be used. Because Globalcitizen does not offer refunds, users that disagree with the policy have tried to use Friendly Fraud to receive a refund.

This type of behavior is illegal and prohibited by all payment providers. Globalcitizen also strictly opposes Friendly Fraud. If Friendly Fraud is discovered, the Student’s Globalcitizen Account will be deactivated, purchased credits will be confiscated, and the Student will be noted as a financial security risk.

In the case of honest mistakes, Globalcitizen can reverse the transaction. We strongly advise Students to contact Globalcitizen Customer Service to resolve any financial disputes.

    9. Prohibitions

    In addition to complying with the restrictions regarding improper use of the Globalcitizen Platform described in Section 11 (Restrictions) of the Globalcitizen Terms, you understand and agree that you are solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws, rules, regulations, and tax obligations that may apply to you in connection with the use of the Payment Services.     9. Use credit cards or other payment methods fraudulently;

In addition, and as set in this Payment Policy, Globalcitizen may take a range of actions against you, including but not limited to limiting access to your Globalcitizen Account and any associated Payment Services, for a violation of this Payment Policy.

    10. Teacher – Student Dispute

In the event of a disagreement between a Teacher and a Student, Globalcitizen encourages the Teacher and Student to communicate directly through its official communication channels (Submit Ticket) and attempt to resolve the disagreement. If a Teacher and Student are unable to resolve a disagreement and Globalcitizen is asked to mediate, Globalcitizen will have to look at all Live Lesson delivery materials (Lesson recordings) and Digital Classroom activity records regarding the dispute, which should show all key relevant information including the time, date and communication details. Although Globalcitizen will attempt to evaluate the dispute on an impartial basis, Globalcitizen will have the authority to resolve the dispute in its sole discretion, and Globalcitizen’s resolution of the dispute will be final. As a result, Globalcitizen shall have the right, in its sole discretion:

    1. To transfer credits, offer a refund, or reverse a transaction.
